Memorial Day Schedule 2017

MEMORIAL DAY - MONDAY, MAY 29, 2017
8:30 AM
Legion Members, other Veterans, Boy Scouts, and the Marching Band assemble for the parade at the Legion Hall on Kearsarge Street Extension.

8:45 AM
Parade begins accompanied by the Kearsarge Regional  High School Band marching
across Main Street onto Kearsarge Mtn. Road.
Floral Bouquet placed at the Soldier’s Monument.
•Parade continues on Kearsarge Mtn. Road around the Masonic Lodge Building
and down Church Street to Main Street to the Town Hall.

9:00 AM
The Legion Unit will conduct a Flag Raising Ceremony on the Town Hall lawn.
 The Band will play “To the Colors”.

9:05 AM
Legion Detail with colors enters the Town Hall, followed by the general public.
Program at the Town Hall
•Invocation    
•Welcome: Charles Trowbridge, Post 39 Commander
•Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag
•Introductions: Charles Trowbridge
•Guest Speaker:  BRENT TODD – The role of music during World War One
•Patriotic Songs and National Anthem sung by all
•Closing Prayer  9:40 AM
Upon completion of program, all units form to resume the parade outside the Town Hall.  The parade marches on West Main Street to the Pine Grove Cemetery (approximately ½ mile).
10:00 AM
A brief ceremony and a salute to departed veterans at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
10:15 AM
Parade continues through the rear exit road of cemetery to the bridge over the
Warner River at No. Village Road for a brief ceremony saluting those veterans lost
at sea.
10:30 AM
Return march via Mill Street & West Main Street to the Legion Hall and dismissal.
