From Where I Write: War-Time Letters
Friday, August 25, 2017
7:00 p.m.
Warner Town Hall
5 East Main Street, Warner NH
During war-time, letter writing has been one of the main forms of communication between those serving abroad and those left behind. Helping to ease the pain of separation, letters were written to express both the soldier's affections for their sweethearts and their yearning for home.
Personal stories and war-time experiences are vividly brought to life during this poignant presentation researched by Graham Gifford of the New Hampshire Telephone Museum and presented by the Kearsarge Conservatory of the Performing Arts. Letters will be shared so that the audience may better understand what war looks, feels and smells like to those who lived it.
